Explore JL Audio’s In-Wall Subwoofer Models
Often when we talk to clients, they worry about choosing between quality and style when it comes to their home audio–whether it be surround sound or two-channel. Subwoofers get a particularly bad reputation since they lack the style of some of their high-end loudspeaker counterparts and can look like big black boxes in the corner of a room.
The good news is there are a lot of high-performance subwoofers that can be hidden within walls while still packing a strong punch. In particular, we often recommend JL Audio in-wall subwoofers for our clients throughout Bergen County, NJ.
JL Audio crafted a Fathom line of in-wall subwoofers through thin-line drivers and purposeful engineering that delivers unrivaled low-frequency extension and dynamics. Manufactured with two in-wall cabinets, a rack-mountable amplifier and an outboard, these IWS System subwoofers don’t lose any of their in-room counterparts’ power and signal processing.

Fathom IWS-SYS-108/208
These 8-inch in-wall powered subwoofers are the easiest to integrate in smaller media rooms or home theater environments, with small primer white grills ideal for common drywall thickness. The enclosure features an 8-inch thin-line woofer and a rack-mount amplifier to deliver 600 Watts of power. Frequency response ranges from 24.9Hz to 109Hz.
The subwoofer includes all Fathom signal processing features, including room optimization, an easy-to-use interface and an LCD display. Its dual 8-inch powered subwoofer counterpart contains the same features as the SYS-108 model but double the power for added depth. Small enough to fit in a 16-inch enclosure, it is still a great option for smaller installations.
Fathom IWSv2-SYS-113/213
Featuring a floating mount design to minimize wall excitation, the Fathom IWSv2-SYS-113 delivers 1000 watts of power. In addition, the paintable steel-mesh grill further controls vibrations at this higher power threshold. The 13.5-inch subwoofer fits within 2”x4” and 2”x6” wall studs and is ideal for a larger environment. The frequency response ranges from 26Hz to 101Hz with up to -10dBs.
Like its smaller counterpart, the subwoofer features room correction to easily calibrate for any environment or application. If you want more power in the room, upgrade to the Fathom IWSv2-SYS-213 dual subwoofer that ups the wattage to 2000.
