Magico’s S Series Brings Flagship-Level Technology to an Approachable Level

The Magico S7

Since we're talking about trickle-down engineering, let's start with the top of the S7 range. The S7 is a full-range 3-way speaker with tweeter, midrange, and bass driver designs all stemming from the flagship M-Series innovations. Three 10-inch aluminum bass drivers produce tight, powerful bass with the speed to keep up with any soundtrack. The midrange cone is made with carbon nanotube and Nanographene materials which are lighter and far stiffer than previous cone materials. The one-inch diamond-coated beryllium tweeter has extra-long excursion and was designed with Finite Element analysis tools for exceptional performance with wide dispersion and low distortion.

Visually, this is a prominent speaker that you want to show off, just like the a Porsche. No less than twelve lustrous finishes are available, including six texture powder coats and six high-gloss colors. The curved aluminum side panels are machined in-house from half-inch thick aluminum extrusions, and a massive four-point outrigger base supports this hefty 300-pound tower. 

S5, S3, and S1 Towers

Trickle-down engineering excellence continues to flow down to S Series speakers for those with a little less space. The bass drivers count two in the S5 tower, which otherwise features similar driver design and construction from the S7. This 220-pound speaker is still sizable, powerful, and imposing as anchors for a listening room or high-end theater. Trickling further down, the S3 and S1 towers offer slightly smaller bass drivers and present a reduced footprint that will fit many spaces. 

Audiophile Home Theater

Magico engineering also trickles down to home theater applications. Magico is perhaps thought of as a speaker for two-channel applications, but the truth is that trulygenuinely great speakers work well for a home theater too. Magico added a center-channel design and a subwoofer to the S Series so you can enjoy S engineering excellence for movies and shows. The SCC (S Center Channel) features two 7-inch bass woofers, a 6-inch midrange, and a beryllium diaphragm tweeter that is up to the demands of the most difficult and explosive soundtracks. The S-Sub has two 12-inch subwoofers powered by a 2000-watt amplifier in a single cabinet for incredible bass response down to 15hz.
